Lime Kilns Heritage Trail

The English Bicknor Heritage Trail and the restoration of the Lime Kilns at Rosemary Topping was the idea of Barbara Britton, the then Chairman of the Parish Council in 2001 and with the help of the Wye Valley AONB a grant was obtained in December 2005 and the work carried out by volunteers with the help of stone masons in 2006.

The work consisted of clearing the site of trees and undergrowth, emptying the kilns and the 4 metre high chimney of 30 years of rubbish, restoring the stonework and constructing a path and steps to enable visitors to view the Kilns more easily.
